Merge & Surge: The core modern experience. Eating fills your Surge meter; line up 3 same-tier segments and they fuse into one higher tier for bonus points. At 100% press SPACE (or tap SURGE on mobile) for a Hyper-Surge: brief invincibility, wall-phasing and slow-mo.
Classic Survival: Retro rules. One food type. If you hit the wall, an obstacle or yourself, you die. No surges, no merging, no rewinds. Pure high score chasing.
PvP Blitz: 60 seconds on the clock against two AI snakes. Force them to crash into you to knock them out — eliminate both for an instant win, or hold the highest score when time expires.
Cheating Death (Chrono-Surge)
Crash in Merge & Surge with at least 50% Surge banked and time freezes: spend it to rewind the last few seconds and keep the run alive, or accept your fate. One press of [R] undoes your death.
Food Mechanics & Tiers
In Merge & Surge, eating food adds a segment of that tier to your tail. Points are 10 × tier × your combo — every quick bite raises the combo (up to 8x), and at max combo Fever Mode doubles everything.
Tier 1 food (+10 × combo)
Tier 2 food (+20 × combo)
Gold / Runner (+30 × combo)
Runner catch bonus (+500)
Line up 3 same-tier segments and they fuse into one segment of the next tier — worth 50 × the new tier and it shortens your snake. Body tiers climb Cyan → Lime → Gold → Magenta → Purple → White.
Special Food Types (Merge & Surge):
Runner (Tier 3): A glowing purple orb that actively flees when you get close! Corner it for a Tier 3 segment, +500 bonus points and a 25% Surge boost.
Magnet Power-up: Temporarily pulls nearby food directly towards your snake's head.
Ghost Power-up: Grants temporary phase-shifting. You can safely pass through walls and your own tail without dying!
Slow-Mo Power-up: Drastically reduces game speed for precision maneuvering in tight spaces.

Mute: Instantly mute all game sounds.
Controls
Steer: WASD / Arrow Keys — or on touch screens, tap either side of your snake's path, or swipe anywhere on the board.
Surge: SPACE, or the button on mobile (when the meter is full).
Pause: P or ESC. Rewind: R at the crash prompt. Any key skips the countdown.
Use the settings in the sidebar (or mobile menu) to adjust master volume, change difficulty, and pick your snake skin!
