The Ultimate Guide to Snake Surge
Game Modes
- Merge & Surge: The core modern experience. Collect tiered food (Tiers 1-6) to build your snake. Merging 3 segments of the same tier consolidates them and fills your Surge meter. Press SPACE (or tap SURGE on mobile) to activate a Hyper-Surge for invincibility!
- Classic Survival: Retro rules. One food type. If you hit the wall or yourself, you die. No surges, no merging. Pure high score chasing.
- PvP Blitz: 60 seconds on the clock. Compete against two AI snakes for the highest score. Cut them off to steal their segments!
Food Mechanics & Tiers
In Merge Surge and PvP, eating food adds a segment of that tier to your tail. Get 3 matching segments in a row to merge them up to the next tier!
Tier 1: Cyan (+10 pts)
Tier 2: Lime (+30 pts)
Tier 3: Gold (+90 pts)
Tier 4: Magenta (+270 pts)
Tier 5: Purple (+810 pts)
Tier 6: White (+2430 pts)
Special Food Types (Merge & Surge):
- Runner (Tier 3): A star-shaped food that actively runs away from you! Catch it for a quick Tier 3 segment.
- Magnet Power-up: Temporarily pulls nearby food directly towards your snake's head.
- Ghost Power-up: Grants temporary phase-shifting. You can safely pass through walls and your own tail without dying!
- Slow-Mo Power-up: Drastically reduces game speed for precision maneuvering in tight spaces.

- Achievements: View your unlocked trophies and milestones.
- Snake Whispering: This help guide.
- Theme: Swap between Modern Glass, Retro Gameboy, and Classic Nokia modes.
- Music: Toggle the dynamic procedural synth BGM.
- Mute: Instantly mute all game sounds.
